FACETEM (1x1.5mL)

Facetem is a new generation injectable based on calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA).

Facetem S is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, semi-solid and cohesive implant. Facetem contains calcium hydroxylapatite particles suspended in an excipient gel composed of water, glycerol and sodium carboxymethylcellulose. The particle size of Facetem S calcium hydroxylapatite varies between 25 and 45 microns and must be injected using a 25G50MM cannula.

Use

This product is used for the correction of mild to moderately sagging facial tissues.

Indications

1) Soft tissue augmentation of the deep and subdermal dermis of the face: treatment of: nasolabial folds, cheek augmentation, treatment of bitterness folds, chin;

2) Correction of lesions such as acne scars;

3) Restoration and/or correction of signs of loss of fat mass in the face (lipoatrophy) in people with human immunodeficiency virus;

Components

Facetem is composed of CaHa microspheres and carrier gel. It is distinguished by the following characteristics:

• Thermally stable and classified as bioactive, Facetem integrates into biological structures, promotes cell growth and stimulates the production of natural collagen.
• CaHa microspheres serve as a scaffold for the growth of fibroblasts, the latter being responsible for the production of collagen fibers.

Morphology of CaHa microspheres

Composed of Ca2+ and PO43- ions, natural components of bones and teeth, CaHa microspheres are considered safe and biocompatible. They do not pose any risk of allergy, irritation or toxicity. These CaHa microspheres have a uniform shape and vary in size, thus facilitating injections.

Facetem biodegradable is designed to be injected subcutaneously or into the deep dermis, allowing the correction of severe facial wrinkles and folds.

Mechanism of action

Immediately after injection, Facetem provides a spectacular volume and lifting effect thanks to the gel matrix and CaHa microspheres. These microspheres form a "scaffold" that stimulates the growth of fibroblasts to produce collagen, thus creating new collagen fibers. In 2 to 3 months, this gel-matrix is ​​completely transformed thanks to the new collagen network formed. The latter provides support to the dermis, thus providing a lifting effect and long-term skin rejuvenation. The CaHa microspheres are completely metabolized by macrophages, finally leaving the newly formed collagen network, ensuring a natural appearance.
